The business of Dawson Group (on shipping market known as DAWSON) was set up back in 1999 when two individuals have established the Dawson Shipping Co. Ltd, the ship management company registered in Malta. The company started to manage two river-sea type vessels which were purchased in same year. The main activities of the company were the carriage of agro products and steel products from the Russian inland waters to the customers in the Mediterranean area.
From the very beginning of the project, we have been doing our business with the well-known international trading houses, specializing on the agro trade, such as CARGILL, BUNGE, TRANSGRAIN, QUADRA, BAYWA etc.
Since 2001, we started to expand our activities on the field of international maritime trade. Other river-sea going vessels were purchased and consequently new ship- owning companies were established. In beginning of 2005 the Cyprus registered BSBS HOLDINGS LIMITED was established as a holding company which consolidates all the shipping assets belong to the individual shareholders. However, the trade activities are still conducted on behalf of Dawson Group.
Today Dawson Group consists of:
- Shipping division with 13 own vessels;
- Port Grain Silo which is used for storage of grain products, then transported by group’s fleet.
Fleet
The group owns and operates 13 vessels. Eleven of them are river-sea going vessels, which are among the youngest vessels of such type available on the market.
Clients and Cargo
Among our present customers are a number of first class international companies such as BUNGE, CARGILL, TRANSGRAIN, OLAM, QUADRA, BAYWA and also Russian first class companies, such as MECHEL, SEVERSTAL, ASTON, YUG ROSSII.
Personnel
All the brokerage, the operation and the technical management as well as safety and security management is done in-house, by group’s employees from two offices situated at Moscow (Russia) and Riga (Latvia). The group employs highly professional and fully internationally certified personnel, which had been professionally engaged in shipping business for many years.
